About KLOUTMACHINE
Kloutmachine was the first of its kind to directly meet Athletes at their needs and facilitate brand deals between businesses and themselves for NIL. Focused on giving the Athlete their own agency when it comes to who profits off of their NIL, KLOUTMACHINE was a pre-seed startup I had a lot of fun exploring their initial branding, website, social media, and more for them. Since then, they’ve met seed and have rebranded, but I still love the vibrancy and energy of their first branding.
branding & development
I designed, developed, and executed on the entire pre-seed brand for Kloutmachine. I really wanted to capture the energy and excitement I felt while watching sports, and I think that sports design has great possibilities for iconography, illustration, and social media. Overall, I was inspired by an acid-80s color scheme, mixed some WWF-era inspired graphics for illustrations. My approach was to be as fun, loud, and hyped as possible.

social media & templates
Kloutmachine was going to be an incredibly active social media brand. I designed templates so that we can make immediate announcmenet on new athletes that got their NIL stats, athletes that joined the KM starter program, or any updates on NIL brands that athletes could take a part in. Assets and collateral for instagram were built in a scalable toolbox style, so that the client could make edits and fixes whenever they needed— even live during games.

Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) scorecards
Kloutmachine’s primary method for drumming up interest in athletes joining and making a profile on KM was through these scorecards. Using their KM’s propreitary information, KM could caluclate a student athlete’s score based on their metrics, their location, their education, and their post game interview. These scorecards needed to be fast to fill in, fast to execute, and feel like a little like a trading card. Due to KM being pre-seed, I made these in google slides so that KM’s owners could quickly, easily, and cost effectively make these scorecards.

swag and blue sky ideas
I love blue sky ideas! I’m especially enthusiastic in pre-seed phases, where the client doesn’t yet know how successful their brand will be. I liked designing what-if scalable projects for potential festivals or swag that KM would be a part of.
